We’ve rounded up the best outdoor workout spots (some bias included) based on variety, scenery, accessibility, and overall experience.


Best Overall: Viera Regional Park

Location: 2300 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL

Viera Regional Park offers everything you need for an outdoor workout—paved running paths, open green spaces for bodyweight exercises, and sports fields for agility drills. This sprawling and beautifully curated park has plenty of shaded areas and water fountains, making it a great year-round spot. The park also features:

  • Basketball and tennis courts for games or workouts that challenge your agility and endurance

  • Open grassy areas perfect for HIIT and bodyweight-style training

  • A large, paved walking loop ideal for any running and speed drills

Best for: Full-body workouts, running, group training, sports


Most Scenic: Riverwalk: A Family Park

Location: 5355 US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL

For those who love walking with a view, Riverwalk Park in Rockledge is a top choice. While lacking some of the variety and amenititesof other parks on the list, this is easily one of my favorite places to just get out and go for a walk for a little while Right off of US-1, this park is easy to get to (and easy to drive past) from anywhere along the Space Coast. This tucked away riverfront park features:

  • A scenic boardwalk with stunning views of the Indian River

  • A peaceful and immersive nature environment, perfect for yoga or stretching

  • 915ft boardwalk (~1/3 mile down and back) makes for easy tracking of distance

Best for: Relaxed workouts like walking, stretching, and yoga


Most 55+ Friendly: Larry Schultz Park

Location: 2560 Fiske Blvd, Rockledge, FL

Larry Schultz Park is an excellent choice for older adults and those looking for lower-impact exercise options. This park is positioned right at the entrance of Levitt Park and offers simple but appealing workout options, with plenty of spots to stop and rest along the way. This park's main attractions include:

  • A paved path that winds around a central pond with a fountain

  • Various bodyweight workout stations positioned along the loop

  • A playground for kids and grandkids to stay active

  • A pavilion for shaded rest and post-workout relaxation

Best for: Seniors, walking groups, strength training, stretching


Most Variety: Veterans Memorial Park

Location: 400 Sykes Creek Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL

For those who like to switch up their workout routine, Veterans Memorial Park has it all. With plenty of places to walk, new and varied workout equipment, a playground for the kids, and an incredible war museum, you and your family could spend a whole day here. This park's main features are:

  • A plethora of new, clean workout equipment with instructional signage

  • Open, well-kept spaces ideal for bodyweight and functional fitness

  • A playground for kids and grandkids to enjoy while you work out

  • Shaded areas for cool-down exercises and stretching

Best for: Cross-training, sports conditioning, bodyweight workouts


Best for Trail Running & Hiking: Wickham Park

Location: 2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne, FL (15 min from Viera!)

If you're looking for natural terrain and trail running, Wickham Park is a fantastic option. Wickham Park is one of the most well known parks in Brevard, due to its large area, variety of activities and amenities, and many local events held. This park has plenty to do, and offers:

  • Miles of dirt and grass trails for a more challenging and varied cardio sessions

  • Plenty of shaded areas to beat the Florida heat

  • Bodyweight training stations dispersed along the trails for strength-building workouts

  • Dog parks and playgrounds to accommodate the whole family

Best for: Trail running, endurance training, long walks


Best Hidden Gem: Dick Blake Park

Location: 398 Gus Hipp Blvd, Rockledge, FL

A lesser-known spot, Dick Blake Park is perfect for those looking for a quiet outdoor workout with minimal distractions. It features:

  • A paved fitness trail with exercise stations along the path

  • A peaceful setting, great for solo workouts or meditative runs

  • A small playground with equipment that can be used for functional movements

  • Large, multi0use fields for sports or agility and endurance training
